after doing all this stuff to make your own biodiesel, are you really saving significant money? Or is this more for environmental reasons?
lives2live @ 6:55 pm:
biodiesel has the same octane level that petrol diesel has, there is no preformance difference in biodiesel.

a diesel motor needs absolutely no mods to run biodiesel.,
Biodiesel can also be mixed with petro diesel at any ratio.
lives2live @ 8:52 pm:
biodiesel can only be used in a diesel motor.

no conversion nessisary, just watch out because the rubber fuel lines degrade due to biodiesel being an excellent solvent
motorcowboy210 @ 8:07 pm:
Depends what you can buy it for,it veries. It's not a big deal to pick up a restruants and it's still free. All you have to do is make the arrangements.

does one need to convert the engine to feed it biofuel? Or just straight up?

How much would it cost if I didn't have time to go around to restaurants sucking up used grease like 90% of people who work 40 to 60 hours a week? Is there a source for cheap used oil? I wouldn't mind setting up a two or three hundred gallon tank to house bulk used oil. That would make DIY biofuel a reality for many more people.
